The second episode focuses on the conflicts among the ship's designers regarding the number of lifeboats. An Irishman named Jim Maloney is hired to assist with the electrical wiring in exchange for transportation for his family to America. Jim's wife, Mary, is initially uncertain about the move, and they secure a room in third class. However, a stranger named Peter causes Mary's unease by constantly appearing nearby. Meanwhile, relationships and tensions among other passengers are explored. The ship hits the iceberg, and the Maloney family becomes trapped below decks.
In the third episode, an Italian stoker named Mario Sandrini gets a job on the ship, and his brother Paolo secures a position as a waiter in the first-class dining saloon. Paolo becomes infatuated with a stewardess named Annie Desmond. As the iceberg strikes, fear escalates among the passengers in steerage, and Peter helps Mary and her children escape. Paolo attempts to free his brother and other Italians locked in a storage cupboard as water rises around them.
The fourth and final episode portrays the desperate situation of the passengers as the Titanic sinks. Various characters face challenges and make life-or-death decisions. Watson, a character, is accidentally locked in a cabin but is eventually saved. Jim searches for his daughter, but it is too late for them to escape. Paolo and Mario attempt to free themselves, and Lady Manton is persuaded to board a lifeboat. Ultimately, only three people survive, including Lord Manton. The series concludes with the survivors being approached by the rescue ship RMS Carpathia.

Mrs. Vanderbilt's Debutante Ball Audio Walking Tour
Mrs. (Alice) Vanderbilt's New York Mansion was actually only one third its size when Alva Vanderbilt built her Chateau. Alva was soon in second place again when Mrs. Vanderbilt expanded her mansion to almost double the size of Alva's and did so again in 1895 when Mrs. Vanderbilt's Breakers surpassed Alva's Marble House both in scale and elegance. Alva's need to reign would cause her to make one of the greatest mistakes of her life when she tries to marry her only daughter into British nobility setting in motion misunderstandings and misgiving among the fourth generation of the first American princes and princesses.
Mrs. Astor's more modern New York Chateau which she split into two homes to share with her son John Jacob Astor IV who would infamously die on the Titanic in 1912.
Alva Vanderbilt's New York Chateau became the center of High Society in 1893 when she out maneuvered Mrs. Astor in a coup attempted at securing the title as the Queen of High Society. While she was somewhat successful in challenging the royal post she lived the rest of her life in the shadows of her sister in law, Mrs. (Alice) Vanderbilt.
